Help: Weapon Types Name: Weapon Types Classes: All Position: Information Syntax: None Description: Every weapon has a damage type. This controls the combat words you see, such as hit, slash, pierce, or hack and slash. It also decides whether specialty passives such as Swordplay or Knifeplay apply. Most weapon types are only normal weapon flavor. A few specific families matter for specialty skills. Main Types To Know: Hit / Fist Weapon - Shows as hit or hits. - Used for bare hands and fist-style weapons. - Does not count as sword or knife specialty damage. Knifeplay Family - Pierce (not lance-pierce) - Crush and Twist (like Riddick's tea cup) - Pierce and Twist (rare cohe pierce, or other rare pierce types) - These work with Knifeplay, Advanced Knifeplay, and Knife Mastery. Swordplay Family - Slash. - Hack and slash. - These work with Swordplay, Advanced Swordplay, and Sword Mastery. Important Lance Pierce is the later/second pierce, the lance-style pierce. It is not part of the Knifeplay family and does not trigger Knifeplay, Advanced Knifeplay, or Knife Mastery. Other Weapon Types: Other types, such as sting, whip, bite, bludgeon, crush, pound, claw, maul, thrash, blast, punch, stab, gun blasts, monster bites, and similar entries do not currently feed the sword or knife specialty passives.
