Preparing the edge costs mana and movement and grants a temporary Damroll bonus. A successful qualifying knife hit can poison the victim and apply additional hitroll and dodgeroll penalties. Those penalties and the preparation duration continue improving with Assassin remorts. Early in the path, a successful knife hit normally spends the prepared edge. Later milestones make the poison increasingly persistent: - 700 - Night Venom: 60% chance to keep Venom Edge prepared. - 1500 - Thousand Cuts: raises that retention to at least 85%. - Rune of the Hollow Needle: successful knife hits no longer spend it, and the Venom Edge hitroll/dodge penalties become stronger.
