Help: Spike Guard
Spike Guard is a defensive stat that helps protect you from very large
single hits.
It is built for moments where one attack lands much harder than a normal
hit. This can happen from gunshots, critical shots, heavy skills, large
spell spikes, or stacked combat effects.
How It Works
When a single hit is extremely large compared to your max health, Spike
Guard can lower the final damage. The more Spike Guard you have, the
stronger this smoothing becomes.
Spike Guard can:
- lower the worst part of a huge damage spike
- reduce the chance of being killed by one massive hit
- help against gunshots and critical gun damage
- help against heavy skills and large spell bursts
- make dangerous fights feel less sudden
Testing Report
The spikeguard command toggles a report mode. It only works if you
currently have +SPIKE_GUARD. With the report on, you can see burst-window
Spike Guard reductions while testing. With it off, only big saves are
shown.
Equipment
Some equipment may give +Spike Guard. Small amounts help a little;
larger amounts become more noticeable.
