Help: Output Control What It Is OUTPUT is NukeFire's personal semantic output-control system. Instead of matching the literal words in a line, OUTPUT controls tagged families of information by meaning: your combat, other combat, misses, procs, movement, loot, affects, regen, and related categories. It is useful for screen-reader users, compact setups, busy groups, or anyone who simply wants more control over what reaches the screen. Nothing Changes Until You Ask A character with no OUTPUT overrides is DEFAULT. DEFAULT preserves NukeFire's existing reader, compact-combat, summary, regen, GAG, and dedupe behavior. Existing characters do not have to configure OUTPUT just because the system exists. Quick Verbosity Presets output full Full detail from every currently tagged semantic family. The OUTPUT layer itself hides nothing. output standard Useful detail with combat and loot summaries. Common misses, cosmetic combat flavor, unrelated movement, and other-person affect fades are removed. Your group movement, your affect notices, and regen remain. output minimum Lowest-noise playable preset. Your combat remains summarized, as does loot. Observed combat, misses, proc/flavor chatter, movement chatter, other-person affect fades, and regen are hidden. Your own important affect fade/ready notices remain. output default Remove semantic overrides and return control to NukeFire's older reader, compact, summary, and regen preferences. Preset aliases: balanced or normal = STANDARD minimal or quiet = MINIMUM legacy = DEFAULT Use output presets for the short list and output explain <preset> for a plain-language explanation. Presets Are Not Locks A preset simply writes ordinary category settings. Change any category afterward and the profile becomes CUSTOM. Example: output minimum output movement group full output combat proc summary This keeps Minimum as the starting point but restores the two pieces you personally want. Category Modes FULL Ask for normal tagged detail from this category. SUMMARY Use an existing NukeFire summary/batching path where that category supports one. Not every category has a semantic summary form yet. OFF Hide tagged output in this category for your character. DEFAULT Remove the direct override. A child then inherits from its parent when applicable; otherwise older NukeFire behavior is used. Category Hierarchy Parent settings control children that do not have their own override. An explicit child setting wins over its parent. Combat: combat Parent for semantic combat. combat.self Combat involving you directly. combat.self.miss Misses, negates, and failed blows involving you. combat.others Combat you are only observing. combat.others.miss Misses and failed blows you only observe. combat.flavor Optional mastery/proc-style combat announcements. combat.proc Covered item/equipment proc chatter and proc summaries. combat.group The measured group-round aggregate line. Movement: movement Parent for tagged movement chatter. movement.group Your own group/followers moving. movement.others Unrelated characters and mobs arriving or leaving your room. Other: loot Covered loot detail and loot summaries. affect Parent for tagged affect/status notifications. affect.fade Your timed effects/cooldowns fading or becoming ready. affect.others Other characters' timed effect-fade room chatter. regen Periodic HP, mana, and movement regeneration readout. Use output list for the live category list. More output families will be tagged over time without changing the basic command. Examples output combat summary output combat self full output combat self miss off output combat others off output combat proc summary output combat flavor off output movement others off output movement group full output loot summary output affect others off output affect fade full output regen off Dotted forms are equivalent: output combat.self.miss off output movement.others off Finding What Just Bothered You output last shows the last tagged semantic category that actually reached your screen. output last off is the quickest way to silence that category. output recent shows recent visible semantic categories, newest first. You can then change one by number: output recent 2 off output recent 3 summary Only category/protection information is kept for this helper; it is not a transcript of your messages. Status and Diagnostics output status Show the detected verbosity profile, each category's explicit, inherited, contextual, or default state, plus session seen/hidden counts. output stats Show semantic seen/hidden counts for this connection. output layers Show NukeFire's personal output pipeline and the older summary layers currently active. output reset Same result as OUTPUT DEFAULT: clear semantic overrides. How OUTPUT, GAG, and DEDUPE Fit Together For ordinary player-visible text, the personal path is: Player Actions | Semantic OUTPUT | Personal GAG | Exact dedupe | Terminal / client Player Actions inspect the original write before your personal OUTPUT or GAG settings hide it. Use OUTPUT when you mean "I do not want this kind of information." Use GAG when you mean "hide this exact text/pattern for me." Use DEDUPE when you mean "collapse exact repeated lines." Safety Protected death/critical events cannot be hidden simply because a broad combat category is OFF. Protocol, login, editor, pager, prompt/layout, and other protected output also bypasses ordinary personal filtering. OUTPUT changes presentation only. It does not change attacks, movement, loot, affects, regeneration, combat timing, damage, or game mechanics. Screen Readers and NukeFire Client The same server settings are available through: output ... sr output ... cr output ... All three control the same persistent semantic policy. CR OUTPUT is convenient for NukeFire Client Reader users and can be bound through the client's command/macro system. Voice routing is a separate client layer; OUTPUT decides which tagged game information is delivered by the server. An explicit output combat self full can override older automatic reader/compact participant-combat suppression while that override is set. Use output default to return to traditional behavior. Current Scope OUTPUT only controls semantic paths that have been tagged in the server. Older untagged messages continue to behave exactly as before. NukeFire will continue moving useful high-volume output into this system rather than guessing at message meaning from arbitrary text.
