Help: Fist Weapon Name: Fist Weapon Classes: Barbarian, Headhunter, Kaiju Position: Passive weapon behavior Syntax: None Description: A fist weapon is a weapon object that uses the unarmed damage type. In the weapon type list, this is the hit/fist weapon family. Builder-side, this is the weapon damage type 0 / combat type 3000. Fist weapons are not swords or knives. They do not trigger Swordplay, Advanced Swordplay, Sword Mastery, Knifeplay, Advanced Knifeplay, or Knife Mastery. Instead, they keep the fighter on the unarmed combat path. What Makes It Special: - Bare hands and fist weapons both count as unarmed for the big brawler classes. - A true fist weapon still adds its weapon dice for Barbarian, Headhunter, and Kaiju. - The unarmed path can also use barehand proficiency bonuses where the character has those skills. - Fist weapons use hit-style combat text instead of sword or knife specialty text. Barbarian: Barbarians are built to profit from empty hands and fist weapons. When the primary hand is empty or using a fist weapon, Barbarian combat has a strong chance to add another hit, with a second chance for one more. The offhand has a similar, slightly lower chance. Headhunter: Headhunters keep their own natural extra-hit pressure, then also benefit from the same empty-hand and fist-weapon hand checks that Barbarians use. This makes fist weapons a strong choice for a close-quarters Headhunter who wants brawler-style pressure. Kaiju: Kaiju get their own heavy class-based extra-hit rolls in combat. A fist weapon does not turn on the Barbarian/Headhunter hand-check routine for Kaiju, but it does keep the Kaiju on the unarmed damage path and lets a true fist weapon add its weapon dice there. Important A weapon's object name is not enough. A glove, claw, knuckle, or cyber-fist only counts as a fist weapon if its weapon damage type is set to the unarmed/hit/fist weapon type.
