This rune grows from successful Wasteland Calm dodges and from successful Scavenger's Instincts corpse searches after the rune has been purchased. Old dodges and old scavenging do not mark the line. The dust starts counting when the rune is earned. As the Dustline Deadeye matures, the Outlander learns to read the empty road between a missed blow and the shot that should follow. The rune may wake Dustline Deadshot, a passive killing line drawn through combat when the wasteland gives the Outlander one clean angle. Harder marks resist the shot better. Wasteland Calm and scavenged field supplies may also wake brief Deadeye surges, reinforcing the Outlander's evasive movement, bullet impact, or damage control for a short time.
