Help: Covering Fire / Cover Fire Syntax coverfire Used By Level 40: Outlander Description Covering Fire sweeps the room with controlled bursts from the firearm in your main hand. It is an NPC-only room attack: each shot selects the next valid enemy, wrapping through the target list until the sweep ends. Cost - 200 movement. - Up to six firing attempts from your main-hand firearm. Requirements - A firearm wielded in your main hand. - At least one round loaded. - At least one valid NPC enemy in the room. - Enough movement to begin the sweep. Effects - Fires up to six shots, or stops when the gun runs dry. - Rotates through valid NPC enemies in the room. - Can strike the same enemy again if fewer than six are present. - Each hit forces the victim into a stunned position. - Survivors suffer a five-tick hitroll penalty, scaling up to -20. - Damage benefits from Bullet Impact and skill/remort scaling. Targeting No target name is entered. Covering Fire snapshots valid NPC enemies in the room and cycles through them. It does not intentionally target players or allies. Ammo Notes Each shot normally consumes one round. Ammo Efficiency, Trigger Control, and other normal ammo-saving effects may preserve a round. The skill does not automatically reload; use topoff or reload first. Accessibility Screen-reader users receive one compact covering-fire shot summary instead of extra repeated shot chatter. Important Note The 200 movement cost is paid when the attempt begins. If the gun is empty or no valid target is present, that movement has already been spent.
